POW*MIA Chair of Honor






Refurbishing the Chair

After receiving the Chair from DAV, we took the Chair to David Wooldridge to refurbish the frame. After David completed his work, we took the chair to Smitty’s Indy Marine for reupholstering and Embroidery Plus to have the POW/MIA logo embroidered on the material. The pictures below shows what the Chair looked like in the beginning and the finish product.

Dedication Ceremony

The dedication of the DAV POW*MIA Chair of Honor was on December 22, 2021. The POW*MIA Chair of Honor was unveiled by the Mayor of Greenwood Indiana, Honorable Mark Myers, DAV Commander Norman Nelson, and past DAV Commander Donald Peek.

Special Recognition

Special thanks goes to Jim McInitire for donating the Chair, David Wooldridge for refinishing the Chair, Smittys Indy Marine for reupholstering the Chair, Embroidery Plus for the POW/MIA Logo, Majestic Stone Imports for donating the granite base, and Dick Harrington for building the platform that the chair sits on.

We also thank Kevin Coley and Donald Peek for allowing this special chair to be located in their facility.
